SDG will do sewerline or plumbing repairs only after doing a full camera inspection because we want the client to know they can trust what we tell them is happening to/in the sewerline. SDG also installs Cleanouts (An access port to the sewerline) when requested.

A repair is fixing something that is broken. As an example, if your sewerline were made out of clay, as they were long ago, and if that clay were broken in a way that was causing a backup in the sewerline, then a repair would be needed for the broken part of the sewerline… which entails digging, cutting and replacing part or all of the sewerline. If there were tree/plant roots intruding through a small air gap in the sewerline, then a process known as, hydro-jetting, would be suggested and is more like regular maintenance than an actual repair. SDG does perform hydro-jetting to clear sewerlines and this comes with before and after videos.

There are three ways to inspect your sewerline: 1. A cleanout (usually located in the front yard near the house) 2. A bathroom roof vent and 3. removing the toilet and putting the camera down the drain. If you don’t have a Cleanout (An access port to the sewerline), then we can usually inspect through the other two methods.

SDG will suggest having a Cleanout installed for future use and SDG does do Cleanout installations.

It really depends on the circumstances of the sewerline. We usually set an inspection to take no more than an hour. We could be done in a matter of 20 minutes. Our professional experience and fees are based on the job, not by the hour.

SDG holds true to a very strict and ethical standard. Though we appreciate any referrals by realtors, we are beholden to the property buyer/owner to let them know the absolute truth of what is happening in their sewerline. We also narrate and document every inch of the sewerline through video and when we are finished with the inspection, the buyer/owner of the inspection receives the video copy in their email.

SDG always sends a video of the inspection to the potential new owner and/or the realtor. It is the new buyer/owner/purchaser of the inspection’s responsibility to ask questions if they don’t fully understand what we presented in the video. Example: If SDG says a sewer line needs to be hydro-jetted because we can’t see the full sewer line to the street… because of  root buildup or other intrusion, it means we cannot make a full conclusion in regards to the integrity of the sewer line from the blockage onward. This never means to just move forward with a purchase and hope for the best. When in doubt… talk to us, not the realtor.
